Azumo Opens Office in China to Accelerate Product Development Alongside Key Customers and Manufacturing Partners

CHICAGO April 3rd, 2023 – Azumo, the reflective display technology company, today announced the opening of a new office in Shenzhen, China. Located in the epicenter of the electronics industry, the office provides local support to Chinese customers and close partnerships with manufacturing partners on Azumo’s LCD 2.0 display product.

The new location gives Azumo a key foothold in the epicenter of the electronics and display industry. By 2025, 75 percent of the world’s LCD displays will be manufactured in China as the country’s panel fabs remain critical to the LCD supply chain. Shenzhen is home to Azumo partner offices for Sharp, AUO, Alibaba, and Foxconn, and the city hosts regional hubs for major tech players like Amazon, Lenovo, Flex, and BOE.

“Most global hardware companies, including many headquartered in the United States, rely on Chinese manufacturers for unparalleled levels of efficiency, scale and speed as they streamline operations and bring new products to market,” said Mike Casper, CEO and co-founder of Azumo. “We’ll work more closely alongside our integration partners and customers as we further develop the future of reflective displays.”

The Azumo Shenzhen office will:

  • House an innovation lab that mirrors the original at Azumo’s Chicago headquarters. This will shorten LCD 2.0 development timeframes and free up additional capacity for growth initiatives.
  • Accelerate product innovation as employees work through accelerated innovation cycles with partner and customer hardware engineers.
  • Increase quality control with new levels of oversight into the manufacturing process and closer association with product engineers during the integration of Azumo’s displays.

“The opening of our Shenzhen office marks an important milestone in Azumo’s growth as a display technology company, and it’s a testament to the hard work of our global team,” said Shirley Gu, General Manager for Azumo’s China operations. “Together, we’ll continue to accelerate product development, forge new partnerships, and acquire new customers as we disrupt the multi-billion dollar display industry in 2023 and beyond.”
