Blackline Safety is a global connected safety technology leader, providing comprehensive live-monitoring and wireless detection for industrial applications. In 2016, Blackline needed to stay in front of their competition. Battery life and display resolution were the top two industry demands.
NEED FOR SUCCESS
The Sharp 1.26″ r-MIP display offered the resolution and low power function, however they needed a lighting source. Their intial efforts at backlighting failed to produce enough light and would destroy their power budget. They came across Azumo’s front light solution and found it to be the perfect fit. First 100 evaluation units passed all their requirements and soon after production was ramped up.
OUTCOME
Blackline remains the industry standard when it launched the G7c in late 2016, quickly ramping. In April 2018 they received the Red Dot Award for Product Design and in Sept 2018 they were awarded “New Product of the Year” for Industrial Internet of Things by OHSA.
Devices that workers depend on in unsafe environments need to be rugged, visible in all light conditions and hold a charge in case of any emergency.
